The Techy Trends

This story is part of Apple Event, our full coverage of the latest news from Apple headquarters.

The iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone Pro Max are here, flexing new camera muscle, new colors and the A13 Bionic chip that promises speedier performance across the board. From the front, the iPhones look similar to last year’s iPhone XSiPhone XS Max and iPhone XR, notch and all. From the back, you get a square camera array that houses either two sensors (for the iPhone 11) or three (for the 11 Pro).

Apple announced its flagship phones for 2019 on Tuesday during its annual launch event. You can watch the ongoing Apple event live, taking place in the Steve Jobs Theater on Apple’s Cupertino, Calif. campus.

As always, we’re watching Apple’s moves carefully. For many people, the iPhone represents the gold standard for smartphone design and cutting-edge features like Face ID unlocking.

But Apple’s iPhone challenge this year is mighty. Phone sales are down. Competitors are pulling ahead on camera tools and features. The iPhone could fall further behind if it lacks 5G while the speedier data networks continue to grow in 2020.
