Samsung Galaxy Note 7 coming back in a ‘Fandom Edition’

Samsung is bringing back the Galaxy Note 7.

The ill-fated was pulled after consumers reported it had overheated and in some cases caught fire.

But now Samsung is giving it a fresh lease of life with a new, refurbished edition.

The 2017 model is dubbed the Fandom Edition and will go on sale in Samsung’s native South Korea from 7th July.

According to the Wall Street Journal, up to 400,000 models with upgraded components will be released on the nation’s three major mobile networks.

Improvements include a smaller battery (the battery being the cause of the problem first time round).

Samsung is also reportedly planning to release the device in limited quantities outside of South Korea in the near future. Though it doesn’t say where or when.

News of Samsung’s plans come as the phone-maker prepares for the launch the Galaxy Note 8, one of its biggest handsets of the year.

The next in Samsung’s Note range is reported to be the most expensive phone Samsung has ever made, with devices rumoured to cost upwards of £1,000 a pop.

The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to launch around the end of August or beginning of September.
