The OnePlus 5 uses a customised OxygenOS version of Android. Based on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat), this time around it’s been tweaked to offer more customisation options and some neat new features.

This includes a Reading Mode, a Gaming Do Not Disturb Mode and some off-screen gestures to help you open your favourite app with just a swipe of your hand.

The OnePlus 5 also comes with Dash Charge fast charging that gives you a full day’s worth of battery in just half an hour.

The absolute stand-out feature though, is the dual-lens camera. Teaming a 16-megapixel main camera with a 20-megapixel telephoto camera, which allows you to take detailed, professional shots, even in poor lighting conditions.

The handset is available to buy outright from the OnePlus website. And at £449 for the 64GB or £499 for the 128GB version, it’s considerably cheaper than the latest iPhone or Samsung Galaxy.

You can then get yourself a great SIM-only deal for your monthly allowance of texts, calls and data.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to shell out all that money in one go, you can also get the OnePlus 5 on a pay-monthly contract exclusively on O2.

O2’s network gives you fast speeds, free roaming in 47 European countries and lots of perks, from priority tickets for events at O2 venues to money off your lunch.
